Review This Product
The Selva Negra coffee is, in our opinion, the best coffee we have for sale on this website. We can't begin to describe the cup that it produces, although if we tried it would be thus: a full-bodied cup with medium acidity and chocolate lemony undertones. Take our word for it and give this special coffee a try! The bean is grown on the La Hammonia farm, a small-yield estate in the Cordillera Isabelia region of Nicaragua. Most of the coffee trees on the farm grow in the Selva Negra Forest. The farm is shade grown, organic and Rainforest Alliance certified. Their main focus is sustainability and they run an on-site resort and restaurant where all products come from things grown or made on the farm, including meats, cheese, veggies and breads. There is limited offering of this coffee in the United States, and after falling in love with it in 2010, BRR was lucky enough to reserve half of the State's allotted beans in 2011. We only offer the beans to two wholesale clients, Buccan in Palm Beach, FL and Bluebird Tavern in Burlington, VT. These are two of our favorite restaurants (check out their menus to see why), and both offer the Selva Negra exclusively via French Press.
